In today’s rapidly evolving IT environment, Identity and Access Management (‘IAM’) plays a vital role in cybersecurity. With the prevalence of hybrid working, IAM is often the first line of defence against cybersecurity breaches. It is considered to be one of the key pillars of Zero Trust Architecture (‘ZTA‘) and an important part of any compliance framework. While heavily regulated industries such as Financial Institutions have been early adopters of IAM solutions, IAM adoption has evolved significantly across all industries in recent years.

In our discussions, however, we come across different level of adoption as well as success of IAM deployments. There is wide array of maturity of organizations in terms of perceived success and Return on Investment (‘ROI’) of IAM deployments. For every successful IAM deployment, there are deployments which either completely failed to take off or delivered a very small part of the promised outcomes. Depending on whom one asks, both the success and failures have been assigned to a multitude of reasons including product capabilities, system implementation partner skills, stakeholder engagement, (legacy) system challenges, etc.

With this background, Hexadius has decided to conduct an industry-wide survey of the state of IAM deployments to understanding current trends, challenges, and best practices in securing digital identities.

As cyber threats become more sophisticated, organizations must ensure that their IAM strategies are effective and up to date. We believe that this survey will provide valuable insights into how businesses are managing user access, implementing authentication methods, and addressing governance & compliance requirements. It will also help benchmark progress across sectors & geographies, identify gaps in security postures, and guide investment decisions. Ultimately, this survey will support the development of more resilient and adaptive IAM frameworks across industries.

How to participate?

There are multiple ways of participating in this survey.

1. The most effective way will be through a meeting (in-person or virtual) with our survey team, which consists of seasoned IAM practitioners. Our team will go through the survey questions, collect your responses and complete the survey questions accordingly. As part of this, you can also ask any related questions.
2. If you prefer to participate without any assistance, you can also complete the survey through online questionnaire by clicking here at your own time.

The survey will take approximately 15 – 20 minutes.
