Managing Segregation of Duties (‘SoD’) in SAP – Training Workshop

SAP ERP (whether ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4 HANA) is often the crown jewel application and needs to be closely guarded against frauds and unauthorized transactions. That’s why Segregation of Duties (‘SoD’) is an important component of SAP security for any organization. While managing SoD is always complex, it is specially a very complex topic in SAP due to unique SAP authorization structure consisting of multiple layers (such as roles/ profiles, transaction codes, and authorizations).
This one-day training workshop will answer some of the common questions related to managing SoD in SAP, such as
- Why is SoD important?
- Who should manage SoD in organization?
- Why do we need to manage SoD at authorization level?
- What can we do if the access cannot be removed?
- Should we remediate SoD before or after SAP S/4 HANA transformation project?

- Overview of User access structure in SAP (including role, profile, transaction, and authorization)
- SoD ruleset and its components
- Enforcing SoD in SAP user access
- Manging SoD remediation in SAP (including Mitigation Controls)
- Native tools in SAP to manage SoD
- Overview of automated solutions to manage SoD in SAP.
The workshop will include some live system demos to support key concepts discussed.
